Easter Weekend

Spring Break was over Easter this year, so we decided to go to my mom's for the long weekend. The kids always have a lot of fun at grandma's, especially when they get to play with their cousins. We left Grandpa watching 9 kids and my mom, my sisters, and I all went shopping and to lunch. We met my good friend Melissa for lunch. It was a great girls outing. We were a little worried about what the house would look like when we got back, but it wasn't too bad. Sadie was even sleeping when we got home. Grandpa's getting pretty good at the babysitting thing. The kids then got to color Easter eggs with their cousins. They had fun and we only spilled two cups of dye. Luckily they cleaned up well.

Sadie was sleeping when all the other kids colored eggs, so she did it by herself when she woke up. I was trying to get a good picture of her looking at me and smiling, but every time she would look at me, she would make a silly face. I thought it was pretty funny, and all the pictures were so cute that I decided to share them all.

Saturday, Grandma did her traditional Easter egg hunt for the kids. I don't know who has more fun with the Easter egg hunt, Grandma or the kids. She always buys each kid a couple of toys that they have to find, and then of course plenty of candy and eggs. They all had a great time. It was hard getting pictures, because they move so fast trying to find all the eggs.

We decided to come home Sunday morning, so we could spend Easter Sunday with dad (we couldn't talk him into coming to Grandma's with us). We made it home in time for church (there are some advantages to a late meeting schedule). That really is my favorite part of Easter. It's so great to remember Christ, his atonement and resurrection. I love to feel the spirit at church, and to recommit to keeping the commandments and trying to do better. After church we went to Wyatt's mom's house for dinner and another Easter egg hunt. Again, the kids had a great time, and got plenty of candy. We were trying to get a picture of the whole group, and we could never get every one to look at the same time. There were only seven kids so you would think that it wouldn't be so hard. I guess they were all distracted by other things. 

With two grandma sponsored Easter egg hunts, and a visit from the Easter bunny, there is no shortage of candy at our house. In fact if anyone feels like their kids aren't on a big enough sugar high, come on over and we will share.

Lacrosse

My niece, Shalece, has played Lacrosse for the last couple of years. I've been wanting to go to one of her games every year, but haven't been able to make it. This year is Shalece's senior year, so I was determined to go to one of her games this year. I finally made it last week. Her sister, Shaelyn, is now on her same team, so I was able to watch both of my nieces play. It was a lot of fun. We brought with us quite the cheering section. They both did a great job. It was my first Lacrosse game, and I really enjoyed watching. Here are a few pictures of my favorite Lacrosse players. I have great nieces. Way to go girls!

Have a little pancake with that syrup

This morning while I was folding clothes and listening to conference, Sadie came in my room and said, "Put me in timeout, mom".  I could see that she had syrup all over her face and in her hair, so I figured she must have made a mess with the syrup. When I went downstairs to check out the damage, this is what I found. A pancake with a whole plate full of syrup. Luckily most of the syrup mess was on the plate. Not too bad as far as messes go. Sadie knew she did something wrong and thought she would be in trouble, so she came and asked me to put her in timeout. Silly girl. We put her in the bathtub and cleaned up the table. I guess next time I should put breakfast up before I leave the kitchen. 

6th post

Boating in March?

Our good friends, The Hardings, invited us to Lake Mead with them last weekend. Thursday night we enjoyed fine dining and entertainment in Las Vegas. We saw the show, Cirque Du Soleil "O". It was amazing!

Friday morning we headed to the Lake. It was a beautiful day at the lake. You would never know that it was March, unless you decided to actually get in the water. It was still pretty cold. The cold water plus my wrist still healing kept me in the boat. However, everyone else took advantage of the wonderful water. There was waterskiing,

Wakeboarding, 

and they even tried out Randy's new surf board.

 It didn't last long, but I'm sure he will get better this summer, since I bet this is going to be his next purchase. What is it with men?

Friday night we went back to Vegas to try out the roller coaster at New York, New York, and to enjoy dessert. 

Saturday, it was back to the lake. We started the day by checking out the Hoover Dam. We had to take this picture of a bridge they are building. We were quite impressed.

 This one is from the boat. You can see how choppy the water is. It was a windy day, so we left the lake a little early, and headed to St. George to do a little shopping, and then to Lehi to pick up the kids from grandma's.

It was a great vacation! Thanks Hardings for inviting us, and thanks grandma and grandpa for watching the kids.

Baby Cows

Last week we were talking to our friends, the LeFevre's, and they mentioned that they had some baby cows and we should bring the kids over to see them. Brynli heard this and was so excited. We went home and she picked out the outfit that she was going to wear to go see the baby cows.  (It's all about the outfit). Sadie was very excited too. She kept talking about the little baby cow and how she was going to hold it in her hand. After I explained that the baby cow would be bigger than she was, she decided that it was going to lick her hand. Both the girls were so excited and insisted that they go see the cows the next day. I had card swap, so I sent Wyatt with the kids to the LeFevre's to see the baby cows. They all had a great time and loved the baby cows. One was small enough that it even let them pet it.

The boys loved the tractor ride. Especially when it was their turn to drive.

And to top off the night, the kids played in the hay.
