A couple of weeks ago Wyatt and I decided to take our boys snowboarding at The Canyons in Park City. Wyatt and Kamryn both snowboard and it was Derek and my first time. I haven't been skiing for about ten years so I thought that I might as well learn to snowboard since the rest of my family snowboards. Kamryn had gone off with his friend Austin, and Wyatt was going to teach Derek and I a little bit before he left us by ourselves. We got my snowboard rented and went up the gondola. We hadn't gone ten minutes when I fell, put my hands back to catch myself, and broke my wrist. I hiked up the hill (it wasn't that far) and rode back down the gondola and found the first aid trailer. (Brynli tells everyone that I did a backflip on my snowboard which is a much better story than the real one). Wyatt and Derek snowboarded down the mountain and met me at the bottom. It was a pretty lame day of snowboarding for all of us. Derek did a great job and had a great time, the little bit he got to go. So instead of snowboarding with Derek like I should have been,
So now I'm sitting at home learning how to do things with one hand (at least I broke my left wrist and still have a good right hand). I have been lucky to have a wonderful husband, family, friends, and neighbors. I have had so much help with my kids, with meals, with laundry and house cleaning, and just a lot of people checking up on me. Thanks everyone for all your help. Hopefully I'll heal quickly. I think I will stick to skiing next time, I must be too old to snowboard.

that sucks big time.
Just looking at the x-rays makes me hurt. Rest and take it easy. We are glad that you have good friends and family there. It has been hard for me to not be there because of my new job, but we will see you on Saturday. Love ya, Mom
Oh dear! That break looks nasty. I would love to help you out. You are going to have to make yourself take it easy for awhile and let that heal!
Wowza! You guys get to put the coolest hospital pics on your blog... :) I would love to help out, Michele. Let me know what I can do!
Michele,
I am so sorry. I know what that feels like! I didn't have to have surgery though. I am so sorry!
Take it easy and I hope you heal really quickly!

Yikes! I am so sorry!
I totally think you should just go with Brynli's story! ;)
I thought I had it tough on my first day of snowboarding! I guess I should be grateful. If you need any help with anything I'm usually available so give me a call if you do!
OOOOhhhh Michele. That looks terrible. Megan said you had a run in on the slopes, but that is worse than I pictured.
Now you can join the ranks of mansfields with metal in their bodies!
All our love!
Michelle, that just looks painful. I couldn't even look at the picture of you getting shot! I hope you start to feel better soon!
Michele! I'm so so sorry! Don't give up on your snowboarding abilities though, we'll never be too old!
I wish I didn't have school so I could come up and help out!
Michele! That is the worst! At least you are a "Go big or Go home" type of girl:) I am well acquainted with the first aid shack myself...hope you heal really quickly and fast-drink lots of milk:)
