Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend. It came a little early for me, but the weather was pretty good, and the kids didn't care that it was only March.

On Friday we decorated eggs at Grandma Mansfield's house. It was a lot of fun! Megan, Mike, & Chloe, and Megan & Mike were there. (No, I didn't mess up, we have two Megans & Mikes in our family, crazy). It is so fun to watch the kids. Sadie didn't quite know what to do, but she figured it out pretty quick. She would throw the eggs in the dye, take a quick taste of the vinegar, and then take them out. Needless to say her eggs were the least colorful. Derek on the other hand had the most colorful eggs. He was very patient and would leave his eggs in the dye until they were very bright and colorful. Brynli was able to decorate the most eggs. She had a pretty good production line. Kamryn just played with the eggs and thought that destroying them was as much fun as coloring them.

Saturday was the big Easter Egg Hunt at grandma's house. We kind of got a late start, but the kids loved it. There was plenty of eggs for everyone to find. I think the Easter Bunny could skip our house this year and we would be just fine. Derek cracked me up, because after the hunt when we came inside he went through his basket and organized everything into piles. That's my Derek. After the kids finished we had our Easter dinner because Alys was working on Sunday. This was a treat for the adults. Ham, butter square potatoes, rolls, fruit salad, cinnamon rolls, and ice cream dipped in chocolate for dessert. Yummy. We played a little guitar hero and then had to get the kids home to bed.

We had a wonderful day Sunday too. Church was awesome. The speakers were great and the spirit was really strong. Sadie went into nursery again this week so I was able to enjoy the lesson in relief society. It was also about Christ and his life and atonement. I am so very thankful to my Savior for the atonement. I really had the spirit of Easter. After church I wanted to take a picture of my kids all dressed up. Almost impossible. This is what we ended up with. Better than nothing I guess. We just spent the rest of the Sunday together as a family, playing catch, going for a walk, & a quick Easter lesson. What a wonderful day!

Aww, your family is so cute. It looks like you figured out how to move the pictures around in your post. We did all the Easter bunny stuff after church with my family and it kind of ruined the spirit I had felt at church so we did an Easter lesson for FHE, it turned out great. I put questions in Easter eggs about Christ and the reserection, so after a quick hunt we had a discussion about all the questions. The kids had a good time and it brought the trun meaning of Easter back to our home.

So..the tag thing. Well I don't know how much time you are suposed to have but it took me like 2 weeks or so to actually do it. I have been tagged before and never got around to actually doing it. I do think that they are fun though so you should do it. By the way Brynli's hair is darling. If we lived closer to you we would have to come get some of those easter eggs off your hands!
